  • Matthew Brewster

    bold color & shape relationships

Matt Brewster grew up in Corvallis and began painting in high school in a classroom setting. Matt is camera shy, as are many artists, and preferrs just his work in the photo.

    Artist Statement:

As a painter I am most interested in the contrast of bold colors. My paintings usually focus on line and shape until I find interesting compositions and structures that hint at views of the ocean, lightning, and trees in abstract landscapes. The designs of geometric shapes can be aerial views of landscapes like farm land, oceans, and fields. I want people to see possibilities of many landscapes, formations, and shapes in each painting.

  • "Matthew Brewster's paintings use elements derived from life abstracted into intricate geometric shapes and vibrant popping color."
