  • Grant Pattieshaw

    intricate mixed media artist

Grant Pattieshaw is an enthusiastic creator, no matter what he is working with. He crafts creatures and forms from yarn, found objects, and thread; he draws monsters and scenes in pencil; he explores everything with paint. When Grant makes a creature, that creature becomes a living member of his crew and an active new member of Living Studios by default. The latest creation is a small, bright blue Godzilla complete with a fishing pole and attached fish for a food source.

Grant is also the Living Studios dinosaur keeper, maintaining a diligent watch of the raptors in the backyard and leading the Dinosaur Squad and the Dinosaur Rescue Center. There are currently two female raptors, Ash and Black Sea, and their babies at Living Studios. Grant has raised generations of dinosaurs in the yard, including Freckles, Arthur, Brownie, Chocolate, Thunder, Lightning, Blue, Mossy, Snowman, Zilla, Storm, Smoky, Dutch, Dash, Niko, Valley Storm, and Fun Run. Ask Grant anything about the Living Studios raptors, and you will get a thorough explanation of their individual traits, relationships, and backstories.
