  • Alex Russnogle

    mixed media & collage artist

    Jill R. Baker

"During a walk along the Willamette River, Alex collected rocks to throw into the water and some to take back to the tables where we set up paper and materials for working outside. As an artist who also works with collage on paper, I could recognize the creative process from which Alex moved from throwing rocks in the water to placing rocks on his paper, an uninterrupted and seamless continuation of an idea. Collage often involves disassembly and re-telling, whether it is a series of images or an experience we repeat in different ways. Alex is a storyteller, a curator, and an artist with a seemingly endless amount of work to make."
